Septuagint in Johannine Writings

Zeal for Your House Consumes Me
LXX has aorist κατέφαγέν, but John uses future middle καταφάγεταί.

Bread from Heaven
John 6:31 has ἄρτον ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ instead of ἄρτον οὐρανοῦ, and adds φαγεῖν from Ps 78:24a.

They Will All Be Taught by God
Somewhat close quote, except one expressed in accusative, one in nominative.

Die in Own Sin

Gary Manning: I wonder how strongly that idea from the LXX should influence our reading of the phrase in John 8. Should we think of it as "you will die for your own sin(s)"?

You Are Gods
Ps 82:6 (LXX 81:6) ἐγὼ εἶπα· θεοί ἐστε καὶ υἱοὶ ῾Υψίστου πάντες· John 10:34 ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς [ὁ] Ἰησοῦς· οὐκ ἔστιν γεγραμμένον ἐν τῷ νόμῳ ὑμῶν ὅτι ἐγὼ εἶπα· θεοί ἐστε;
Exact quote.

My Soul Has Been Troubled
Changing “my heart” to “my soul”.

Who Has Believed Our Message
Isa 53:1 κύριε τίς ἐπίστευσεν τῇ ἀκοῇ ἡμῶν καὶ ὁ βραχίων κυρίου τίνι ἀπεκαλύφθη. John 12:38 ἵνα ὁ λόγος Ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου πληρωθῇ ὃν εἶπεν· κύριε, τίς ἐπίστευσεν τῇ ἀκοῇ ἡμῶν; καὶ ὁ βραχίων κυρίου τίνι ἀπεκαλύφθη;

Rom 10:16 Ἀλλ᾿ οὐ πάντες ὑπήκουσαν τῷ εὐαγγελίῳ. Ἠσαΐας γὰρ λέγει· κύριε, τίς ἐπίστευσεν τῇ ἀκοῇ ἡμῶν;

Exact quote.

He Who Shares My Bread Is Against Me
The quotation is closer to the Hebrew than to the LXX.

They Hate Me without Cause

Close quote, except that the Psalms use participle μισοῦντες, and John has indicative ἐμίσησάν.

Behold the man

It is a direct quote of LXX 1Sam 9:17, and not Zech 6:12. But in HMT, 1Sam 9:17 (הִנֵּה הָאִישׁ) and Zech 6:12 (הִנֵּה־אִישׁ) are close enough (the difference being just an article).
So, is Pilate's famous "Behold the man!" (unknowingly and ironically) alluding to the Messiah? ("Branch" is a messianic title, and Saul was Israel’s first Messiah.)

No Bones Broken

A loose quote rather than a direct quote of any LXX text. C.K. Barrett: "It is difficult to give the source of this quotation. Three or four OT passages come under consideration: Ex 12:10 (cf. v.46), Num 9:12; Ps 34(33):21. The Pentateuchal passages refer to the passover sacrifice, of which no bone may be broken; that in the Psalter refers to God's care of the faithful (The Gospel According to John, London: SPCK, 1967)

They Will Look on the One They Have Pierced

LXX has "They shall look upon me because they have mocked me", while the John 19:37 is "They shall look upon the one whom they have pierced" (and Rev 1:7 also has ἐξεκέντησαν). Obviously John gets the quote from HMT and not LXX.

I Am the First and the Last

The phrase seems to be from HMT rather than LXX.

Rule with an Iron Scepter

Rev 2:27 is a pretty close quote, with a few minor differences: ①Rev has 3s ποιμανεῖ instead of 2s ποιμανεῖς; ②Rev has the article before σκεύη; ③Rev has "clay vessels" instead of "potter's vessel"; ④Rev has present passive συντρίβεται instead of future active συντρίψεις αὐτούς.
Rev 12:5 and 19:15 only quote the first half.
MHT has תְּרֹעֵם (Qal impf 2ms רָעַע "to break" +3mp). But LXX appears to read it as תִּרְעֵם (Qal impf 2ms רָעַה "to shepherd" +3mp).

The Key of the House of David
Not exact quote, but same idea using same vocabulary.

Holy Holy Holy is the Lord

They Will Never Hunger or Thirst
The first part is very close quote (with only the addition of ἔτι), while the second part is looser.

He Will Wipe Away Every Tear

Isaiah has "the Lord God will take away every tear from every face", while Revelation has "[God] will wipe away every tear from their eyes".

Allusion to the Breath of Life Entering the Dead

Close quote.

Babylon the Great Is Fallen

Perhaps from HMT?

The Smoke Goes Up Forever

Isaiah has "and her smoke will go up above", while Revelation has "and her smoke goes up forever".

All Nations Will Come and Worship
Exact quote.

She Will Prostitute with All the Kingdoms

The Nations Drank the Wine of Babylon

Your Merchants Were Great Men
Not exact quote but same idea, replacing "ἔνδοξοι ἄρχοντες" with "οἱ μεγιστᾶνες", and "her" with "your".
